Gabi’s Crew understood the assignment! Our 5th graders took over Community Circle this morning for their Crew Talent Show- on none other than “Wrong Occasion” themed day. Gabi’s crew brought the energy and kept us all entertained! Community Circle is all about building confidence, celebrating each other, and being Crew.

Rainy weather? No problem for Katie’s Crew! 🌧️🏕️

Our 3rd graders headed to Golden Gate Canyon State Park for an epic camping trip at Pickle Gulch. The weather may not have cooperated, but these kids are TOUGH! They braved the rain, hiked through the beautiful aspen trees, played by the lake, built forts, climbed rocks, and warmed up with Curtis’s specialty spaghetti and meatballs.

Adventure isn’t always sunshine and blue skies — and that’s part of what makes these trips so special. Our kids learn how to stick together, stay positive, help each other out, and be Crew even when things get a little wet and muddy.

Way to go, Katie’s Crew! 💙🐻 We are Crew, not passengers.

A little from our first Community Circle of the year! 💙🐻

Our 5th grade Blue Bear Leadership Team (BLT) officially took the lead, running their first Community Circle as the leaders of our school - and our staff kicked off the year by showing off some pretty impressive (and hilarious) talents!

DDES Family Council also hosted their first Coffee Mingle of the year. Thanks to all the parents and families who came out to connect and join our Crew!

Community Circle is one of our favorite DDES traditions — bringing our whole school community together to celebrate, laugh, lead, and build Crew.

Come join us for our next Community Circle this Friday at 8:30am, where Gabi’s Crew will be taking the stage and showing off their talents!

Gabi’s Crew took on Great Sand Dunes National Park for an EPIC 5th grade camping trip! 🏕️

They climbed (and climbed 😅), sledded down the dunes, buried each other in the sand, camped together, laughed a LOT, and made some pretty unforgettable memories.

There’s really no better way to build Crew than getting outside your comfort zone, taking on an adventure together, and having a whole lot of fun along the way.

🏕️ 2nd Grade Adventure: Lake Dillon!

Our 2nd graders kicked off this year’s overnight Adventures with a trip to beautiful Lake Dillon!

At DDES, Adventure is an important part of how we learn. Getting away from the familiar gives students opportunities to stretch themselves, build independence, practice perseverance, strengthen relationships, and experience what it really means to be Crew.

For our 2nd graders, that meant packing their bags, heading into the mountains, spending the night away from home, and taking on a whole lot of new experiences together.

Pretty incredible things happen when the classroom gets a little bigger. 💚🏔️
