Amy’s Closet/House:
Volunteers sell gently worn women’s clothing and accessories to benefit the domestic abuse shelter.

Angel Project:
An opportunity to bless a person beyond a basic need. These recipients have benefited from our on-going ministries. Gifts have included paying for a child to play baseball and a gift card for dinner and a movie, just to name a couple.

Asbury Academy:
Alternative/Transitional School in Lincolnton where volunteers have the opportunity to mentor and encourage middle and highschool students through tutoring, special events and facility improvements.
Needs:

Leggings for girls at highschool (larger sizes)

BackPacks for Kids:
Provides food for children over the weekend, school breaks and holidays. The program is currently serving RSE 11 kids, NLMS 7 kids, NLHS 3 kids, Charter 4 kids.

Birdies:
Helping Hands pairs with county social workers to fill the needs of children in local schools. Projects include giving lice kits, books for children to enjoy over the summer, 100 stockings and Easter baskets, notes of encouragement and many others.

Building & Repair Team:
Volunteers build handicap ramps, make home repairs for those that can’t afford to make the repairs themselves.

Golf Tournament:
Annual Fundraiser held to support all Helping Hands Ministries
Date is set for Monday, May 4th at Verdict Ridge

First Thursday Lunch:
A monthly fundraiser to support the children of our community. Volunteers are needed to prepare and serve the meal, and donate homemade desserts.

Frugal Friends:
Volunteers have the opportunity to meet with community members facing economic crisis to discuss budgeting and money saving tips, as well as assist with a bill to alleviate the immediate crisis.

Lakewood Friends:
Volunteers provide extra care of the residents of Lakewood Care Center. Some activities are playing bingo, crafts with residents or just stopping by to talk. The men would love a craft such as making bird houses. Donations are also given to provide TV’s & services to the residents.

M&Ms (Moms and Munchkins)
Volunteers provide education & encouragement of adolescent moms.
Needs:
Diapers, wipes, baby care items, baby books & children books, pampering items for moms (face mask, body scrub, face wipes) safety items like outlet covers
Future thoughts partner with MOPS/M3
About 20 moms come to meetings consistently

Rake & Run:
Volunteers rake and remove leaves for those that would have a difficult time accomplishing the task without help.

Thanksgiving Dinner to Shut-ins:
The meal is prepared and delivered to those who would otherwise spend Thanksgiving Day alone.

School Mentoring Program:
Students are identified by teachers and staff as those who could benefit by having a constant in their life. The commitment is one hour per week.

Senior Luncheons:
A quarterly lunch that provides local seniors a time of fellowship, food and entertainment at no cost to them.

SOS (Student OutReach Services):
A Student lead mission that organizes and carries out local outreach projects.

Students will be speaking at our meetings throughout the year with updates on this student lead ministry. Khari, Ryan And Anne joined us Monday and shared the clubs plans for the upcoming school year.

FAM: Provide Childcare nb-12
United Way Partnership for Kids: Assist in planning community activities
Fall Festival at The Hill: Plan and Facilitate
Christmas Gathering at The Hill: Plan and Facilitate
M&M’s: Assist with meal prep, clean-up and childcare while moms are in training
Samaritan's Purse Distribution Center: Volunteer
Homeless Backpacks: Coordinate, Collect and Distribute
SOS Membership Drive: Seeking serious passionate individuals with a heart for service, grades 6-12 in Lincoln County. All schools are welcome
Needs: Halloween Candy, Fall decorations and Quality clean picture frames for free family portraits
VTS (Volunteer Transportation Services)

Before proposing a HH's sponsored transportation ministry, I wanted to solicit the input of those interested in forming a volunteer group to provide rides to our neighbors and fellow parishioners here in East Lincoln.
