Today, we remember former member Josh Warren on the anniversary of his Line of Duty Death.

Josh passed away while serving his community with the Alexis Fire Department after suffering a medical emergency while on duty. His dedication to the fire service and commitment to helping others will never be forgotten.

We honor Josh’s service, sacrifice, and the impact he made on those who had the privilege of serving alongside him. Please keep his family, friends, and fellow firefighters in your thoughts today.

Firefighter Warren suffered a heart attack from an undiagnosed heart disease, he was also a member of East Lincoln, and Lucia- Riverbend, departments.

Today has been a busy day for A Shift. Crews have responded to two structure fires, along with several other emergency incidents throughout the day.

While Sunday is a day of rest for many, firefighters remain ready to answer the call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Whether it’s a fire, medical emergency, motor vehicle accident, or another situation requiring assistance, our personnel are always available to serve and protect our community.

We appreciate the dedication of our members and the support of the community we are proud to serve.

Tomorrow is expected to be another hot day. Please take precautions to stay safe in the heat.

Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water throughout the day.

Wear sunscreen if you plan to be outdoors for any length of time.

If you have outdoor projects or activities planned, try to complete them during the morning hours before temperatures peak.

Remember to check on elderly family members, neighbors, and anyone who may be more vulnerable to heat-related illnesses. Also, make sure outdoor pets and animals have access to plenty of fresh water and shade.

This weekend, we had the honor of gathering with past and present firefighters, auxiliary members, and members of our Board of Directors to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Ore Bank Pumpkin Center Fire Department.

It was a wonderful opportunity for everyone to reconnect, share memories, and catch up with old friends while reflecting on the department’s rich history and the many individuals who have contributed to our success over the past five decades.

We were especially honored to welcome special guests including Brian Taylor, Heather Rhyne, Davin Madden, and our department’s first Fire Chief, Eddie Rhyne.

Thank you to everyone who has supported our department throughout the years. As we celebrate this milestone, we remain committed to providing the highest level of service to our community and look forward to serving the citizens of our district for many years to come.

We are proud to announce that the Ore Bank Pumpkin Center Fire Department has been awarded an ISO Class 2 Rating for our entire fire district.

This new rating will become effective on September 1, 2026, and reflects the dedication, training, equipment, and commitment of our firefighters, as well as the strong partnerships we share with our neighboring agencies, Lincoln County Communications, and our water providers.

An improved ISO rating can help many homeowners and businesses within our district qualify for lower fire insurance premiums. While insurance savings vary by carrier and policy, this enhanced rating is a significant benefit for our community.

This achievement would not have been possible without the hard work and dedication of our members, the support of our Board of Directors, and the continued support of the citizens we proudly serve.

Thank you for your trust and support as we continue our mission of providing the highest level of fire protection and emergency services to our community.
