Yesterday morning at 6:38 AM, the Deposit Fire Department and Eastern Broome Emergency Services were dispatched to a two car, rollover, motor vehicle accident in the area of Mile Marker 270 on State Route 17 West Bound in the Town of Sanford. One of the vehicles involved had rolled over into a sign and the three occupants of the vehicle were injured and entrapped in the vehicle. Our crews worked quickly to stabilize the vehicle, provide medical aid to the occupants and extricate them from the vehicle.
Two patients were transported by Eastern Broome Emergency Services and one by Hancock Ambulance. An additional ambulance from Superior Ambulance Service was brought into the scene but was not needed.
The Deposit Fire Department was assisted on scene by a crew from the Windsor Fire Department.
Responding apparatus included Squad 22-1, Rescue 22, Midi-Pumper 22, Utility 22, Ambulance 8422 and Ambulance 8423.
Then yesterday afternoon, at 3:06 PM, the Deposit Fire Department and Eastern Broome Emergency Services responded to a possible house fire in the Village of Deposit. The caller reported a smoke detector activation with an odor of smoke in a single family dwelling. Crews investigated the alarm and determined the smoke odor to be coming from an outside source through an open window.
Responding apparatus included Squad 22-1, Rescue 22 and Ambulance 8423.
