Sometimes we don’t see the world only as it is—we see it through what we’ve learned to expect.
If you’ve experienced rejection, you may notice every sign that you don’t belong.
If people have been unreliable, you may expect them not to show up.
If vulnerability hasn’t felt safe, you may question kindness when it comes without conditions.
And sometimes those beliefs were formed for very good reasons. They helped us understand our experiences, protect ourselves, and know what to expect.
But beliefs can outlive the circumstances that created them.
So look again.
Notice the person who stayed.
The conversation that went differently.
The boundary that was respected.
The moment you were able to speak and still feel safe.
The way you handled something differently this time.
These moments may seem small, but they matter.
Sometimes healing is allowing new experiences to become new evidence—and giving ourselves permission to update an old story.
What might be true today that wasn’t true before?
