"Hot Cocoa with the Principal" has been going on all this winter at Edmunds, with the Principal and Vice-Principla gathering with groups of students who have distiguished themselve with extra-positive and helpful behavior. The students have their names read during the morning announcements, and each one gets a certificate marking their acheivement!

A great performance last night at the Edmunds Winter Concert for 3rd through 5th grades. The student's played to a packed house of loving parents and family, and they did a great job!

Edmunds was excited to have a visitor yesterday - Jaedon LeDeee of the Iowa Wolves! Jaedon spoke with the Boys2Men group first, then he met the whole school in a couple of assemlies. He was asked dozens of great questions, and he shared what it's like to play basketball professionally. Go Wolves!

Our Edmunds Wildcats played a great game on Saturday, leading the whole game; then when the other team caught up, the Wildcats won double overtime they sealed the victory!

Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day at Edmunds After reading about Ruby Bridges, and her courage in helping to desegregate schools, and making signs in their art class, students celebrated Ruby Bridges Walk to School day on Thursday, November 14th at Edmunds Elementary School. This week the students and staff are learning about Ruby Bridges, and her heroic entry into a segregated school in New Orleans, over 63 years ago. To kick off the week we had a special visitor from the OakridgeNeighborhood, Deidre Dejear, who read a book to students about Ruby's experiences. You can see by the faces on the student's faces that Deidre captured their attention! More to come on Thursday, when we do our "Walk to School with Ruby" celebration!

Last night's Fall Festival at Oakridge was a great success, with tons of Edmunds students enjoying the sights and sounds of Halloween, with a haunted house, hay-wagon ride, lots of games, a cake-walk and tons of fun!
