☆2020-2021 Executive Board Feature☆
Meet Greta Haas!
Hometown: Menomonie, WI
This summer, Greta worked at Igor in West Des Moines as a marketing and communications intern. She also completed the PR Council's Agency Ready Certificate program.
“I first got involved in PRSSA my freshman year as a way to build upon the PR skills and knowledge I was gaining in my coursework. I was interested in the opportunity to collaborate with other passionate public relations students and gain hands on experience in the field of PR. My favorite aspect of PRSSA is the connections people are able to build within the organization. Whether that be with other Drake students through community partner work, PR professionals in PRSA or students from other universities I have met through PRSSA conferences, I have learned so much from those who I have met through PRSSA. Public relations is such a collaborative industry where connections truly matter, and PRSSA helps you build those connections. This year I am really looking forward to growing our chapter. I am excited to see how PRSSA students will be resilient and adapt to the changing environment.”

Meet Megan McDowell!
This summer, Megan took 3 summer classes online with Drake and worked for the Iowa Environmental Council as the Communications and Advocacy Assistant. In her free time, she canoed different lakes around the Des Moines area with friends during their weekly Wednesday paddle. She also visited North Dakota and Colorado and camped several times. She also went with friends to camp and canoe the Upper Iowa River for a long weekend.
“I got involved with PRSSA last fall, 2019, which was my first year at Drake as a transfer student. My favorite aspect of PRSSA is finding like-minded individuals who enjoy learning more about public relations. I’m looking forward to trying our best to make 2020/2021 be a fun year and work with potential clients.”
