Oak Park Elementary School

Saturday the Panda Breakerz of Mr. Sans Build2BREAK got to perform at Iowa Asian Alliance 23rd Annual CelebrAsian Festival in downtown Des Moines. Over 40 Breakdancing students performed on stage in front of the roughly 80,000 expected in attendance. The group not only danced, but sang their hearts out together too. They finished off with a family photo with teachers and parents taking photos with the students and coaches.

The north side library and Rosie Reader visited Kindergarten today to tell them about the summer reading program! The summer reading programs starts June 6th at all DM library locations and is FREE to sign up!

Our third, fourth, and fifth grade girls got to participate in the Girls on the Run 5k this past weekend! What a great opportunity for our girls to build confidence, leadership, skills, and healthy habits at such a young age. Thanks to Miss Lado and Mrs. Jensen for volunteering to lead these ladies!

We’re excited to celebrate Career Day this Friday at Oak Park Elementary School! Throughout the week, students can join in our fun dress-up days as we explore future goals, careers, and dreams. We can’t wait to see everyone showing their creativity and school spirit!

* Tuesday – College Spirit Day: Wear your favorite college gear 🎓
* Wednesday – Dress for Success: Come dressed in interview attire 👔
* Thursday – Dress for Your Career: Dress as what you want to be when you grow up 👩‍⚕️👨‍🚒👩‍🏫
* Friday – Panda Pride: Wear Oak Park gear or blue & white 🐼💙
