Since we were challenged by UnityPoint Health - Fort Dodge, LF2 took on the star of life challenge.

The symbol honors Emergency Medical Services, with each of the six points representing a critical stage of emergency care:
1. Detection
2. Reporting
3. Response
4. On-Scene Care
5. Care in Transit
6. Transfer to Definitive Care

We here at LifeFlight live and breathe steps 4,5,6, every single day - bringing on scene care, expert transit, and a seamless transfer to definitive care when minutes matter most.

We love serving our community, keeping you safe, and occasionally getting a little creative on the helipad 🚁- No pilots were injured in the making of this photo

🚁💙 **Inspiring the next generation of lifesavers!** 💙🚁

Flight Nurses Bre and Sydney had the opportunity to represent LifeFlight at a career day at Martensdale-St Marys Jr-Sr High School, for students in grades 6–12! We loved getting to connect with students, share what it’s like to work in air medical transport, and give them a glimpse into the world of emergency medicine.

Who knows — we may have met a future flight nurse, paramedic, pilot, or healthcare hero! 👩‍⚕️🚁

Our crews here at LifeFlight recently all got together for our annual Safety Day! This year had a lot of new safety training and speakers to help keep our crews up to date with all things safety!

Huge thank you to Des Moines Area Community College for hosting us for the day!

Safety day started with the crews turning in their helmets for annual safety inspections! We then had two wonderful speakers
- Trauma informed care with Lynley Wolfe LISW
- Just Culture with Cayce Batterson who is a pilot for Air Methods with AirLife in Denver

We then all enjoyed a lunch provided by Air Methods 🚁

After the speakers we went into safety jeopardy and broke into our stations! This years stations included
- Emergency Egress and Walk Around Challenge with the new Bell 429 🚁
- Team Building where we were partnered up and had to talk our partner who was blindfolded and hand cuffed intubate a patient
- IIMC/Safety Procedures in Flight
- Survival Station/ Fire Extinguisher 🧯

We always love to get all the crews together under one roof to catch up and train together. Safety is our priority and always on our minds for all transports!

First 429 Flight ✅🚨

LF3 officially took the new helicopter up into the skies for its maiden voyage this evening!

We cannot wait to continue to serve all the communities in need. This is just the beginning of bigger, better, and faster patient transports! 🤍

Okay but look at that ambulance 😍

We are so happy to welcome this beautiful rig to our team! This beautiful rig belongs to our Pediatric Transport team and NICU team!

Did you know that our Peds/NICU Team is not only available in the sky, but also by ground? This team is truly amazing and always going above and beyond for their patients and their family!

Whether it’s by ground or sky, our team is always on the move to serve the neonatal and pediatric patients all over the state of Iowa. And trust me… they get some miles on them 🙌🏼 (averaging more than 50,000 miles a year!)

The amazing skill, talent, dedication and knowledge this team is truly remarkable!

This truck is packed with state of the art equipment to best serve your little ones with the best care possible. A PICU/NICU on wheels! 🤍 Special lighting creating a galaxy ceiling on the inside to help bring comfort to all patients as well!
