Did you know that any DMPS student that qualifies for Free and Reduced can participate in Parks and Rec sports or swim lessons for $5? Just make sure you've filled out the OPT in form before signing up through Des Moines Parks and Recreation. You can opt in here: https://activities.dmschools.org/youth-programs/parks-rec-scholarship-opt-in/

Last week, we celebrated our incredible Brubaker Staff! Thank you to all the folks that made last week special for our Bru crew.

Help us show our staff some love by helping stock the staff lounge with goodies for the rest of the school year. Examples of what we are stocking it with: cans of pop, bags of chips/pretzels/popcorn, candy, plates, cups and utensils. If you are interested in donating any of these items, please fill out a slot indicating which item. We are accepting items now through May - preferably by May 5th.

Brubaker ❤️'s Rosie the Reader and her crew! The last few years Rosie has visited every 2nd grade class at Brubaker to share her love of reading and the library. You may have also seen her at K/1 Family Night in October. Collaborations like this are what make our community great!

Reminder to all families: Brubaker/Hoyt Food Pantry will continue to have weekly open hours for the rest of the school year. *Limited appointments, see below*
The Brubaker/Hoyt food pantry is first come, first served. Limits are placed on most food items to ensure everyone receives a fair amount.
When: Every Wednesday, from 1-2:15 pm.
*closed on no school days, unless noted otherwise*
Where: Enter from the front of the building at door #3. A sign at the door will prompt you to call 515-242-7612 to be let in.
Please prioritize coming during this time as there is limited availability for appointments. For appointments, please check in with Miss Jessica 24 hours in advance if you are not able to come on Wednesday and would like an appointment.

Look at how great our students did on their Wax Museum Projects. We are so proud of all of their hard work! Many thanks to everyone that made the 5th Grade Wax Museum a huge success last week. :)

Park N Play is back at Sheridan Park this Spring! Check out their schedule and plan a visit to see what fun things they bring to our neighborhood!

Mark your calendars! Brubaker Spring Music Concerts are happening on Thursday, April 23rd in the Hoyt Auditorium.

4th Grade - 9:00 am
5th Grade - 8:00 am

We will be selling carnations by the stem for $2.50 each. You can purchase flowers before your student(s) concert time.
