The Glass Industry Coalition Of Iowa

We were hoping things would go a different route for us in our fight against S.F.345 this year but it's clear our state representatives have no interest in listening to or working with their constituents.

You would think after the rally we had in the first round against this bill back in 2021 they would have listened and understood the impacts their actions would have on small businesses and artisans here in Iowa and we can only thank our then state representative Christina Bohannan for championing for us and keeping our industry alive at the time.
-
Iowa is becoming less and less like home to us and pushing us into a realm of darkness as a state we dont know if we will all survive in as they rip our industry apart on false accusations and biased opinions fostered by representatives like Dan Dawson.

We hope to find peace in the coming months but it is clear that our families, businesses and livelihoods mean nothing when it comes to tax revenues and short falls created by our legislators and state and local governments.

They will continue to tax us to death until there is nothing left to tax or kill and hand those revenues off to all our bordering states as they continue to ignore what our industry can and would be happy to provide and what our constituents ultimately want here in Iowa.

We will continue to rally support and help raise awareness for our community until our last breathe is snuffed out by more ludicrous state legislation and ripped from our chests just like everything else.

Well it was short and sweet today with Rep. Mike Vondran at the and he's a super nice guy.

Wish I would have had more time to talk with him about our cause but the scene was hectic between committee meetings and demonstrations actively taking place all around us.

He is a glass supporter he stated and enjoys the beauty of it but was hesitant on our cause due to the current environment but was willing to listen.

Lets hope he can get me in front of Rep. Dan Dawson and Rep. Ray Sorenson for further review and discussion down the road!

We just noticed this new bill introduced last Friday on 1.17.25 known as H.F.84!!!

If you don't believe us when we say WE ARE UNDER ATTACK HERE IN IOWA we don't know what else to tell you!!!

Now our very own legislators are providing legislation to slap us with a misdemeanor and fines to keep us from creating our art despite having a liquor store on every corner if not 4 all providing a much greater evil to our community!
