My youngest son is a NW graduate (and former member of Northwest Singers) who is now in Iowa State Singers. This afternoon, both groups performed together for their first concert of the year. It's so special to see our kids from Waukee go on to excel at the next level of their education.

More special tonight was that three grads got to sing for Erica Seeley, who taught them all music at Walnut Hills Elementary!

It was a busy night in the district as we celebrated homecoming at Northwest Fest, and at the same time the public got to tour the brand new Waukee Performing Arts Center. What a great time as a community - it was so fun to see old friends and talk to so many students!

How good can it get?

That was the question posed to WCSD staff this morning at the Back-to-School Kickoff - it was a celebration of many years of service for some, and a new start for others. What a great reminder that this district excels at many things, but continues to strive for more!

Last night was Dr. Buck's last School Board meeting - after a day of celebrations, we took time to thank him for his years of service to our district. It's hard to see him go, but we know he will still be supporting WCSD and Dr. Crozier in his new position at SAI. Best wishes, Dr. Buck!
