We will hold a public hearing on the proposed calendar for the 26-27 school year. The biggest change this calendar would bring is a weekly 2 hour early out each Friday.

πŸ’œπŸ“š Proud to Represent Muscatine at IASB BOARDCON 2025 πŸ’›βœ¨

Over the past couple of days, I have had the privilege of attending the IASB Board Con 2025, joining school board members and education leaders from our district and across Iowa who are committed to strengthening public schools and elevating outcomes for every student.

πŸ’œβœ¨ Honored to Be Sworn In β€” Ready to Serve Muscatine βœ¨πŸ’›

On Monday I had the privilege of being sworn in as a member of the Muscatine Community School District Board of Education β€” and I am filled with deep gratitude, humility, and determination.

This moment is not about a title. It’s about responsibility.
It’s about the students who deserve every opportunity we can give them.
It’s about the educators who show up every day with heart, skill, and resilience.
It’s about families who trust our district to deliver a safe, equitable, high-quality education.

I ran for this seat because I believe in Muscatine β€” in our potential, our community, and our commitment to doing right by every learner. Now the real work begins, and I intend to honor this role with transparency, courage, and a relentless focus on what matters most:

βœ”οΈ Students first, always.
βœ”οΈ Evidence-based, data-driven decisions.
βœ”οΈ Support for our teachers through meaningful PD, mentorship, and consistent expectations.
βœ”οΈ Full implementation of MTSS to ensure the right support reaches the right student at the right time.
βœ”οΈ Clear communication in plain, accessible language for all families.
βœ”οΈ Responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars with honesty and transparency.

Thank you to every person who believed in this vision, who encouraged me, and who understands that strong public schools strengthen an entire community. I am ready to listen, ready to collaborate, and ready to get to work.

Did you know that strong leadership = higher student success? IASB's Lighthouse Study revealed that boards in high-achieving districts engage in deep conversations about student learning, while those in low-achieving districts focus more on administrative tasks. πŸ’› πŸ’œ We did it, Muscatine! πŸ’œπŸ’›
I am deeply honored to have been elected to the Muscatine Community School District Board of Education.

This win belongs to every student, teacher, family, and community member who believes in the power of public education. Together, we’ve said loud and clear: every child deserves a champion, every teacher deserves support, and every decision must be made with transparency and purpose.
Thank you for your trust, your encouragement, and your votes.

The work ahead won’t always be easy, but it will always be focused on what matters most β€” our kids.

πŸ’ͺ Let’s get to work.
