The Iowa Civil Rights Commission is a neutral, fact-finding, administrative agency that enforces the Iowa Civil Rights Act of 1965, Iowa's anti-discrimination law. There is no charge to file a discrimination complaint with the Commission, nor an attorney required. People have 300 days from the last alleged discriminatory incident to file a complaint.

Last week, the Iowa Office of Civil Rights hosted Amal for a job shadow! Amal is a student at Iowa City’s City High School who is involved in mock trial, among various other activities, and wanted to learn more about what the IOCR does! She was able to shadow our Executive Director, meet with the leadership team, and meet with various other team members to learn about all of the ins and outs of what we do. Thanks for joining us, Amal!
