Last night, hundreds of Tyson workers came together to demand that Illinois governor J.B. Pritzker save the Joslin plant and keep over 2,700 jobs in Illinois.

On September 3rd, workers from across the state will be driving to Springfield, Illinois to put pressure on Pritzker to fulfill his campaign promises of keeping jobs in Illinois!

Today over 200 people gathered at the Tyson plant in Joslin, IL to fight back against these illegal layoffs and to demand 6 months of full pay to all workers, regardless of immigration status!

Every year Tyson receives MILLIONS in state subsidies. The workers, not the bosses, built Tyson. The workers are the ones that made Tyson billions of dollars every year. That factory belongs to the workers! The state and the county have the power to seize it and put it in their hands!

The fight is just beginning! Join us this Monday, August 24, at 7pm for another community meeting at the Sudanese Community Center!

On August 13th in Joslin, Illinois, Tyson Foods laid off an entire plant of more than 2,500 workers with no notice! Thousands of families are now scrambling to figure out how they’re going to make ends meet. After decades of service these workers deserve more than the crumbs that Tyson is legally obliged to pay them!

Join us TODAY, AUGUST 21ST, at 3:30PM for a press conference and rally to fight back against these anti worker layoffs! The fight will continue later TONIGHT at 7 PM where we’ll meet as a community to discuss our next steps!
