A few eye-opening photos from CMV inspections around Iowa lately.

While we know some issues pop up without warning, many of these have been developing for quite some time.

Out-of-service violations are always cheaper and easier to fix in your own yard rather than roadside!

This truck was inspected this morning on I-80/35. The driver drove for approximately eight miles unaware two tires were missing and the last set of duals on the trailer were seized. Roads are still slick as we recover from the blizzard yesterday. If you drive, please ensure your equipment is up to the task!

District 1 - Des Moines

Last night, around 11:30 pm, Sergeant Albright was working an incident involving multiple semi-trucks that had crashed and were stuck on I-80 near the 175 mile marker (Kellogg). As he walked back to his patrol vehicle, another semi-truck lost control and collided with his Tahoe. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries resulting from this incident.
