Our first 2026 meet-up is in the books! 😎🌈

We grabbed a coffee at the lovely Dessert Oasis this morning to kick off another workday in the City of Detroit! It was great meeting LGBTQ+ and allied employees from across city departments and experience levels.

Yesterday, members of our ERG volunteered with the Gleaner’s Community Food Bank to help distribute food items to Detroit residents! This was a great opportunity to support a good cause as we head into the holiday season.

We’re looking forward to another great year working for the City of Detroit! Stay tuned for upcoming events and programming brought to you by the city’s LGBTQ+ and Friends Employee Resource Group πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆπŸ³οΈβ€βš§οΈ

DID YOU KNOW? Corktown Health accepts some insurance plans offered by the City of Detroit for city employees!

Although 40% of their patients identify as heterosexual, Corktown Health is considered a leader in providing LGBTQ+ healthcare. They opened a dental office last year, and because of their overall non-profit business model, they accept all patients regardless of ability to pay. For this reason, a good way to support them is to use their services if you have high-quality insurance where they can receive full payment and support their operations.

Take a look at what insurance plans Corktown Health accepts for its various services. Open Enrollment for city employees ends Wednesday, November 6th.

Please note that we are not providing a recommendation for a particular insurance or a particular health care provider!
