CHARGED: Singin Kai Nelson, 18, of Dearborn, has been charged in connection with abusing his two-year-old pet dog.

CHARGED: Ramon Javon Perez Smith, 17, of Detroit, has been charged in connection with the non-fatal shooting of 14-year-old boy, also of Detroit. Defendant Smith will be waived and tried as an adult defendant.

CHARGED: A 16-year-old juvenile male has been charged with carrying a concealed weapon.

CASE UPDATE: After an extensive review of all the relevant evidence, the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office has determined that charges will not issue against the Pittsburg Steelers' DeKaylin Metcalf. The warrant request is denied.

CASE UPDATE: Today, Defendant Michael Lopez, 44, of Southfield, was found guilty as charged in the homicide of Melvindale Corporal Mohamed Said.

His sentencing is scheduled for May 18, 2026, at 9:00 a.m., before Judge Bridget Hathaway.
