In recognition of Arab American Heritage Month and Chaldean American Month, on April 10th the Commission on Middle Eastern American Affairs (CMEAA), in partnership with the Arab American National Museum and the Chaldean Community Foundation, hosted a record breaking statewide educator workshop at the museum, welcoming more than 50 educators from across Michigan. Through expanded statewide outreach, the event offered a full day of cultural learning, hands on activities, museum tours, and professional development credits. Educators left with free classroom resources to extend their learning and professional development, encouraging culturally dynamic classroom environments. The museum in collaboration with CMEAA is now exploring hosting these workshops twice a year to meet growing demand and continue advancing culturally responsive education in Michigan.
