We were honored to have MSHDA CEO & Executive Director Amy Hovey, Chief Housing Solutions Officer Lisa Kemmis, and Homeless Solutions Program Manager Christina Kenney join us for a conversation and tour at Peggy’s Place, our emergency shelter for families.
We don’t take for granted the opportunity to engage in conversation, especially with leaders who are shaping housing policy and solutions across Detroit and the state of Michigan.
These moments matter. They create space to align, to share insight from the front lines, and to strengthen the partnerships needed to address housing instability with intention and impact.
Thank you, MSHDA!💙

We need volunteers!
From Monday through Thursday, April 6–9, COTS is hosting Peggy's Place Spring Clean Days! During this time, we seek five volunteers each day to help refresh, restore, and care for the space that hundreds of families call home each year.
Peggy’s Place is more than a shelter, it’s a place of stability, healing, and new beginnings. The environment we create matters. A clean, organized, and well-maintained space helps families feel safe, respected, and ready to focus on their next steps forward.
Service times are flexible as we welcome volunteers between the hours of 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM on each day.
If you are willing to help, sign up by clicking one or more of the links below. Thanks for considering and for sharing!
