For Ms. Ashia Edmonds, the journey to homeownership started with a suggestion from her brother and a desire to build something lasting right here in Detroit.

As a Buy Back deed recipient, Ms. Edmonds navigated the program with one goal in mind: building generational wealth and creating a stronger future for her family. And for the first time, she can say she is a “homeowner” with pride.

For 10 years, the DLBA’s Buy Back program has helped Detroiters reclaim homeownership and move closer to building generational wealth.

More than 1,400 deeds reclaimed.

Today, we were proud to stand alongside to celebrate 67 Detroit residents receiving their deeds after successfully completing the DLBA’s Buy Back Program!

For 10 years, Buy Back has helped Detroiters reclaim ownership of their homes, providing a pathway to greater stability, pride of place and the opportunity to build generational wealth for their families.

Today’s celebration was a powerful reminder of what’s possible when Detroiters are given the tools and support to remain rooted in their communities.

Let’s keep going. Let’s keep rising higher! 💙
