Southwest Detroit Community Park and Garden Just a year old, Scarcyny Park is a small location off Junction Road on Merritt Street.
Scarcyny Park was developed April 30th, 2011 as an opportunity for members of the Southwest Detroit community to meet and connect with one another. Though only a year old, the community garden project has attracted volunteers from all walks of life interested in “planting a seed” of hope and revealing the beauty hidden within the metropolitan Detroit area.
