Our thoughts are with our colleagues in Michigan Department of Transportation during this sad time. It's not only the law, it's our responsibility to slow down and be aware in construction zones. Safety is everyone's responsibility.

With profound sadness and heavy hearts, we mourn the loss of fellow road professionals Bruce Wagner and Steven Spenle who were dedicated public servants at the Michigan Department of Transportation. Our thoughts are with our MDOT colleagues, their families and friends during this difficult time.

This is a tragic and sobering reminder of how fragile life can be and the hazards road workers face every day. We will never forget those who have lost their lives while performing their duties on Michigan roads. Road workers perform an essential function for our communities and it’s everyone’s responsibility to ensure we all get home safely.
