Here's an opportunity for residents to voice their concerns and problems with city government.

Detroit residents have the following options to dispose of tires:
• Contact DPW at (313)876-0004 for a paid pickup of tires (cost is $3.00 per tire)
• Residents can take up to 4 tires to the free DPW drop off sites at 8221 West Davison or 12225 Southfield Road.

According to the City of Detroit Health Department and the General Services Department Parks & Recreation Division, Detroit Recreation Centers and Detroit Public Library branches are available as cooling centers during periods of extreme heat.
With heat index values expected to reach the 100s, Detroit Recreation Centers and Detroit Public Library branches are available as cooling centers during regular operating hours.

The Detroit Caucus is celebrating Juneteenth with a free, family friendly, citywide celebration of community and freedom. Mark your calendar for Saturday, June 20 from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm at Delores Bennett Park located at 444 Smith Street in Detroit's North End neighborhood.

Join Mayor Mary Sheffield on Friday, June 12, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Adams Butzel Complex for the official launch of Occupy the Summer, a citywide initiative designed to provide safe, fun, and engaging opportunities for Detroit youth throughout the summer.
Families can enjoy FREE food, carnival rides, haircuts, giveaways, community resources, and a very special guest!

Key Curfew Rules and Guidelines
15 and Under: Must be accompanied by a parent, legal guardian, or authorized adult between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.

Ages 16 and 17: Must be accompanied by an adult between 11:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.

Valid Exceptions: The curfew does not apply if a minor is traveling to or from lawful employment, school, or with a parent/guardian
