For the past decade, the Office of Talent Development and Performance Management (TDPM) has been all about helping the City of Detroit’s employees grow, lead, and shine. From fresh ways to learn to bold ideas that push us forward, our team of has been raising the bar every step of the way.

Led by our visionary, Chief Learning Officer, Dr. Iris Ware, our multifaceted team brings passion, expertise, and dedication to every program we design. Together, we’ve created new pathways for learning, leadership, and growth that uplift city employees and the residents they serve.

In 10 years, we’ve trained thousands, sparked countless success stories, and built momentum that keeps moving this city forward.

Here’s to 10 years of leveling up—and the next chapter of building an even stronger Detroit together.

From earning certifications and certificates to gaining valuable knowledge and forming lasting connections — their growth was inspiring!

This powerful event raises awareness and calls our community to action to help end gun violence.

Hear from speakers including Police Chief Todd Bettison and City Council President Mary Sheffield, participate in Stop the Bleed training, and receive free gun locks. Let’s work together for a safer Detroit!

March is National Reading Month! In honor of National Reading Month, the Office of Talent Development and Performance Management is sponsoring a Give One-Take One Book Exchange for City of Detroit employees and our connected agencies.

Beginning March 3rd, there will be a book exchange cart outside of Suite 308 at the Coleman A. Young Municipal Center, with professional development and leisure books for your reading pleasure.
