“We only exist because of the community and our community is under attack. The least we can do is shut down for a day in solidarity.” - Jared

The people are not allowing Trump and the billionaires to have the final word. We are speaking with one voice and saying no more illegal wars, no more ICE, no more police violence. We need to defeat the attacks from the Trump administration, but we can’t just go back to the status quo either. So we must take to the streets and let it be known that we have the power to turn this system inside out in our favor. We need to fight right now in massive numbers and with total determination.

Join us Tuesday for a special press conference

Join us for a press conference to say enough is enough, we need a general strike!

Our immigrant neighbors are hunger striking in ICE detention, our tax dollars are being used to bomb schools in Iran and neighborhoods is Lebanon, and police continue to kill with impunity. All while our cost of living goes through the roof. It’s never been clearer that this administration is waging a war on working class people at home and abroad!

We have the power to shut this system down and stop Trump’s agenda. Let’s spread the word: no work, no school, no shopping on May 1st!

Across the city, Detroiters are answering the call: no work, no school, no shopping! On May 1st, we’re joining in the nationwide general strike to show Trump and the billionaires that the people have the power. The people know that a system that prioritizes billions for war over our basic needs, terrorizes our neighbors, and kills us every single day must be shut down.

May Day is our opportunity to say enough is enough and STRIKE!

Hundreds of people held inside the North Lake ICE facility, the biggest in the midwest, have started a hunger strike demanding safer conditions and an end to cruel legal obstacles keeping many in captivity with no end in sight.

Minnesota showed the way when they defeated the ICE surge terrorizing their communities by shutting it down and going on strike! We stand in solidarity with the striking detainees and this May 1st we must join them and answer the call for a national shut down! No work, no school, no shopping!

Detroit businesses are joining the call for a general strike!

Detroit has a rich history of working class struggle. From the sit down strikes to the League of Revolutionary Black Workers, Detroit knows the power of labor and hitting billionaires where it hurts.

Over 100 local businesses and hundreds of Detroiters joined the historic nationwide shutdown on Jan 30. Let’s make history again on May 1st with a general strike that shows Detroit’s collective power, and stop Trump’s racist, warmongering agenda!

No work. No school. No shopping.

We’ve been talking to Detroiters on the street all week, and one thing is clear. This war with Iran, is also a war against the working class here!

Instead of our taxes being spent on health insurance, infrastructure, and our basic needs. It is being spent bombing Iranian school girls!

We have had enough! So join us May 1st for May Day. As Detroit joins the nation in a general strike! Tell the Trump administration we will not be quiet and we won’t let this war continue!

Hands off Iran! Hands off the Middle East!

Trump wants to claim that the US is fighting to bring democracy to Iran but he openly says he should pick the next leader of Iran, what kind of “democracy” is that?

The only people who should have a say in what kind of government Iran has is the people of Iran. Meanwhile Trump and his billionaire friends are going after mail in ballots and other voting rights - they’ve never cared about democracy here or abroad!

Join the call for a General Strike on May 1st (May Day). Let’s stop Trump’s agenda of racism, war, and attacks on working families!

04/01/2026

Saturday people hit the streets to voice their opposition to Trump’s wars here and abroad. Trump wants to control the world under the guise of keeping us safe yet does nothing to address the crises here. He carries out the billionaire agenda, killing thousands of people in Iran, Lebanon, and neighboring countries and putting the global economy in chaos.

We must put an end to this illegal war and create a new system that prioritizes the needs of the people and planet. On May 1st, unions, community groups and progressive organizations are coming together for another powerful day of protest. Turning this protest into a general strike is crucial to stop the bleeding.
