Based on negative investigative bacteriological and chlorine residual samples submitted to La. Health Department, the boil advisory for west end of the water system has been lifted. Customers no longer have to boil their water.

SCHEDULED WATER SHUTDOWN

On Monday, October 12, 2026, the entire west end of the Buckeye Water System may experience low water pressure to possibly no water.

We will be making the necessary repairs to the by-pass lines at the Highway 28 East elevated water storage tank. Work will begin at approximately 10:30 PM. We chose this time due to a lower water demand. Repairs should be completed during the night time hours and back running by Tuesday morning, October 13, 2026. Once all work is complete, the System Manager, Mike Luty, will make the decision if a Boil Advisory due to state and federal laws/regulations, will be issued. An announement will be posted Tuesday morning on whether the west end of the water system will be under a Boil Advisory.

ATTENTION to all customers with a past due balance on your account: Cutoffs will be on Tuesday, September 22, 2026. If you have a past due amount on your account, please pay your bill before Tuesday, September 22. This will prevent your meter from being disconnected and you having to pay extra fees. UPDATE ON MAIN LINE LEAK ON HWY 28
The main line leak on Hwy 28 E, near the Dollar General Store (the store near Esler Field Road), has been repaired. Due to opening some valves and closing others, there will be NO BOIL ADVISORY. Please call our office with any questions. 318-466-5746. We do not always see your replies and questions on Facebook immediately to reply in a timely manner. Calling our office would be the best way to get answers/explanations to your questions and concerns.

Buckeye Water District has a main line leak near the Dollar General on Hwy 28 (the store closest to Esler Field Road). This is all of the information we have at this time. Not sure if there will be a Boil Advisory. Not sure what time it will be repaired or how long the customers will be without water. Our operators are doing their best to make the repairs as quickly as possible. Updates will be posted as the office gets them.

Buckeye Water District No. 50, Inc. in Deville, Louisiana seeks an Operator/Labor. Class 3 in Water Production, Water Treatment and Water Distribution is preferred but not required. If not certified, must be willing and capable of obtaining certification.

Stable work history, high school diploma (or GED), good driving record and backhoe experience necessary. Must consent to and pass a background check and a drug test.

Salary depends on experience.
