It is with profound sadness that we are sharing the news of the passing of DeWitt Township Supervisor, Brian J. Ross, on Saturday, October 3, 2026.

Brian was a dedicated public servant, recognized statewide as a water and wastewater systems expert for over 40 years. In addition, he served the residents of DeWitt Township as a Trustee, and then as Township Supervisor, for 19 years. He represented the Township on several boards, including the Southern Clinton County Municipal Utilities Authority and the Next Michigan Development Corporation, advocating for the best interests of our community tirelessly.

Brian and his wife, Margaret, have called DeWitt Township home for three decades, raising their three children here, and becoming an indelible part of the community. Anyone who spoke to Brian learned very quickly just how proud he was of each and every member of his family.

As a leader here, Brian provided humor, guidance, and level-headed approaches to addressing difficult problems. He ensured that all voices were heard, and he created an environment of collaboration and cohesiveness that supported thoughtful planning and decision-making.

Please join us in keeping Brian's family in your thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time.
