A few Members traveled down to AVP ARFF Station 266 at the Avoca International Airport to participate in an ARFF Refresher class with live-fire training. Crews worked to extinguish ground fuel fires, exterior fuselage fires, interior cabin/cockpit fires utiizing both ARFF Truck Mounted Tourets and handlines. Search techniques for victims were also preformed.

DC Firefighters had some visitors earlier this morning! The Dickson City Civic Center Preschool Class stopped by for Fire Prevention. They learned about Charging Safety, Dialing 911, Meeting Places, Stop-Drop-Roll, tours of the apparatus, and even got to use the fire hose.

Nothing good happens at half past midnight.
Dickson City Fire Department was dispatched for a rollover motor vehicle crash on Business Route 6 near the main entrance to the Viewmont Mall.
Assistant Chief Wallo and Rescue 23 crew responded to the incident. Upon arrival, the patient was already in the care of EMS personnel.
Dickson City Police temporarily shut down Business Route 6 between Ocean State Job Lot and the Viewmont Mall while fire department personnel secured the vehicle and controlled hazards at the scene.
Johnson’s Towing responded for removal of the vehicle, and the roadway was reopened once the scene was cleared.
We remind motorists to slow down, remain alert, and give emergency personnel plenty of room when approaching an active emergency scene.

Award ceremony Nov 5th @ Wind Creek Bethlehem.

Regional first responders who battled a February fire at Lehigh Valley Hospital–Dickson City will be honored with awards from the Burn Prevention Network and Lehigh Valley Health Network.
