A small scale emergency awareness drill will take place on Wednesday, October 21st at Dickson County High School. The drill will involve multiple agencies, including Dickson County EMS, City of Dickson Fire Department, City of Dickson Police Department, and Air Evac Lifeteam 37 - Waverly, TN. The drill will involve a staged multi-vehicle accident with DCHS students as "patients". Multiple emergency service vehicles will be responding to the DCHS campus for the drill. Emergency officials want to alert the public to make sure that they are aware that this is only a staged awareness scenario to show the possible consequences of impaired driving. A huge thank you to Christy’s Towing for providing the wrecked vehicles!

Moms, here's your reminder that your well-being matters, too!

It's easy to spend so much time caring for everyone else that we forget to make time for ourselves.

Whether it's setting healthy boundaries, asking for help, finding a moment of peace, or simply giving yourself a little grace, those things matter.

You deserve the same love, patience, and care that you give so freely to others.

You don't have to do it all alone. If you could use a little extra support, our Maternal Health Program is here for you. Complete our needs assessment to get connected today.

🚗 This is National Teen Driver Safety Week! 🚦

Parents - You Have the Keys to Safer Driving!

As parents and caregivers, you play a powerful role in keeping teen drivers and everyone on the road safe!

Here are a few important reminders to help your teen develop safe driving habits:

✅ Set Clear Expectations: Driving is a privilege, not a right. Set firm rules and consequences, and make sure your teen understands that safety comes first.

💬 Keep the Conversation Going: Talk regularly about traffic laws, responsible driving, and the importance of making safe choices. Your teen is listening, and your guidance matters!

📋 Know the Rules: Familiarize yourself with Tennessee’s graduated driver licensing requirements, nighttime driving restrictions, and passenger limitations.

🚦 Lead by Example: Practice safe driving habits yourself. Always wear your seat belt, obey traffic laws, and avoid distracted driving.

📵 Put Distractions Away: Encourage your teen to silence and put away their phone while driving. If they need to text or make a call, remind them to pull over safely first.

❤️ Remember: Teen drivers are still gaining experience. Your involvement, guidance, and consistent expectations can help protect your teen and others on the road.

Drug Free Dickson encourages parents to stay involved, start the conversation, and help teens make safe, responsible choices behind the wheel and beyond!

🚗 National Teen Driver Safety Week begins today! 🚦

Parents, one of the most important things you can do is have open, ongoing conversations with your teens about making safe choices every time they get behind the wheel.

Remind your teen to:

✅ Never drive impaired by alcohol or drugs.

✅ Always wear a seat belt.

✅ Put the phone away and avoid distractions.

✅ Follow speed limits and obey traffic laws.

✅ Never get in a vehicle with an impaired driver.

✅ Speak up and make safe choices, even when friends are pressuring them.

Teen drivers are still learning, and the conversations we have today can help save lives tomorrow. Don't make it a one-time talk. Keep the conversation going!

Let's work together to protect our teens, our families, and our community. Every life matters and every safe choice makes a difference!
