Sunday, I was honored to join family, friends, fellow lawmakers, and members of the Illinois State Police to honor the life and sacrifice of Trooper Corey Thompsen, who was tragically killed in the line of duty two years ago. We officially dedicated the County Road 1900E overpass at Interstate 74 near St. Joseph as the “Trooper Corey S. Thompsen Memorial Overpass.”

Corey dedicated his life to serving and protecting others, and this dedication will ensure his sacrifice is never forgotten.
