Infection Preventionists (IPs) are specially trained professionals, leaders, educators, and collaborators from diverse backgrounds, including nursing, public health, laboratory, and allied health fields. International Infection Prevention Week (IIPW) is October 19-25, 2026, and is a global initiative dedicated to raising awareness about the critical importance of infection prevention. Each year, IIPW celebrates the impact of IPs and reinforces the essential practices that protect patients, healthcare workers, and the public. It’s a moment to honor their expertise, amplify their voice, and remind the world that infection prevention saves lives. This year’s theme is “Generations of Infection Prevention: Past, Present, Protected.” The MT ICP/HAI Section would like to extend our gratitude to IPs across Montana for the work they do each and every day.
