Apples, glorious apples! That was the theme of this week's Preschool Story-time.
Our wonderful Ms. Loretta began the hour with a couple songs: "You are My Sunshine" and "The Good Morning" song before reading the poem "Plentifall" from the book "Wonderfall" by Michael Hall.
Ms. Loretta read the book, "Hungry Bunny" by Claudia Rueda which is a cute, interactive book about a, you guessed it: a hungry bunny who needs the audience's help to pick some apples and get safely back home through a bunch of mishaps along the way. A very fun read!
The children made their own apple tree pictures by gluing tissue paper apples onto their apple tree. They had the options to make red, green and even golden apples to go on their trees. After the craft, the children enjoyed a snack of homemade applesauce and animal crackers.
Join us for another fun story-time hour on Monday October 19th.
Reminder: There is NO story-time on Monday October 12th for the holiday.

The theme of this week's Preschool Story-time was Pinecones and Fall! Ms. Loretta began with a song: "It's Raining, it's pouring".
Two books were read. "A Pinecone!" by Helen Yoon brings to life a child's joy and love of pinecones! Maybe too many pinecone? Is there even such a thing? Read this delightful story to find out how it ends!
The second book, "Leaves" by David Ezra Stein tells the story of a young bear who has never seen leaves fall off the trees before. He isn't quite sure what to do with them. Should he try putting them back on the trees? But as the leaves continue to fall, the bear grows tired and finds a holes and fills it with leaves before going to sleep. The audience gets to experience the changing of the seasons through the bear's eyes. Just a sweet book.
The children painted with pine needle brushes for a fun experience and created their own colorful and unique pictures. When they were finished painting, they enjoyed a snack of orange slices and peanut butter crackers.
Join us again for another fun story-time hour on Monday!

LEAVES were the theme at this Monday's Preschool Story-time! (In particular, Oak Leaves). Ms. Loretta began with a song, "The Leaves are falling down" using hand gestures. Two books were read. The first book was "Oak Leaf" by John Sandford about the extraordinary journey of an Oak leaf and the things that it sees and does in the sky until the end of the journey. You will need to read it for yourself to find out how it ends. Gorgeous illustrations. Highly recommended! "Autumn Leaves Fall" written by Amber Hendricks and illustrated by Gavin Scott is just a cute Board Board that tells the story about the animals living in the forest and the changes that slowly occur as Autumn comes. Again, very beautiful illustrations!
For the craft, the children participated in "Leaf Rubbing" using crayons, creating brilliant pieces of art! For a snack, everyone enjoyed some vegetables: Olives, cucumbers, carrots and also animal crackers. Yum!

This Monday marked our FIRST Preschool Story-time for the 2026-2027 year! Our wonderful Ms. Loretta led our group of youngsters in the "Good Morning Song" and then did a finger play "Two Little Black Birds". One book was read: "The Birds in the Boat" by Audrey Helen Weber is an absolutely gorgeous picture book about a family of birds that take to the waves to play and greet the morning. They rest and take a nap up in the tree before venturing out for another adventure in the afternoon.
The children created their own colored pencil art to mimic the artwork in the book. Their creations were all colorful and unique!
For a snack, the children enjoyed apples and animal crackers.
Join us on Monday for another great story-time hour!
