🚒 Dixon Rural Fire Expands Life-Saving Emergency Care Capabilities 🚒
Dixon Rural Fire Protection District is proud to announce that we are now one of the first fire departments in the area to carry Cyanokit®, a critical treatment used for emergency cyanide poisoning incidents caused by smoke inhalation during structure fires.
Modern fires can produce toxic gases that place victims at risk for cyanide poisoning, a serious and potentially life-threatening condition. By carrying Cyanokit® on our emergency apparatus, our firefighters and EMS personnel can begin advanced treatment sooner, improving patient outcomes when every second counts.
This addition enhances the advanced medical care available throughout our response area and neighboring communities, further strengthening our commitment to protecting the people we serve.
As Fire Chief Dustin Dahlstrom stated:
"This investment reflects our commitment to providing the highest level of emergency care possible. By carrying the Cyanokit®, our firefighters and EMS personnel are better equipped to respond to some of the most critical medical emergencies encountered during fire incidents."
At Dixon Rural Fire, we remain committed to proactively investing in training, equipment, and resources that improve public safety and ensure the highest quality emergency care for our residents, visitors, and neighboring communities.
