In Loving Memory of Rene S. Flores: April 28, 1950 – October 11, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we remember and honor the life of our beloved former Runn Elementary Head Custodian, Mr. Rene S. Flores.

Mr. Flores was more than just a custodian; he was a cherished member of our Runn Elementary family. His dedication, kindness, and unwavering commitment to our campus made a lasting impact on the countless students, staff members, and families who had the privilege of knowing him.

Through his hard work and caring spirit, Mr. Flores helped make Runn Elementary more than just a school. He helped make it a place where everyone felt welcomed, cared for, and at home. His contributions extended far beyond maintaining our campus, and his presence will forever be a part of Runn Elementary's legacy.

As we mourn his passing, we also celebrate the memories, friendships, and love he leaves behind. His legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of our Runn Elementary family.

Our deepest condolences and heartfelt prayers go out to the Flores family, his friends, and all those whose lives he touched.

Rest in heavenly peace, Mr. Flores. Thank you for your years of dedication, service, and love. You will forever be remembered and deeply missed.

Once a part of the Runn Elementary family, always a part of our family.

RUNN ELEMENTARY ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT | JOE PEREZ

We are proud to recognize Runn Elementary alumnus Joe Perez and celebrate his outstanding educational and professional accomplishments!

Joe attended Runn Elementary from Pre-K through 5th grade and continued his education at Donna High School, graduating in 2015.

2020 – Earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Science from The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV)

2026 – Earned a Master’s Degree in Health Administration from Capella University

Today, Joe continues to make a difference through his work in the medical and public health fields. He currently serves as:

Molecular Biologist for the Texas Department of State Health Services

Medical Laboratory Scientist for Quest Diagnostics

Joe’s journey from the classrooms of Runn Elementary to a successful career in science and healthcare is a wonderful example for our students of where hard work, dedication, and education can lead.

We are incredibly proud to celebrate Joe and all that he has accomplished. His success is another chapter in the legacy that began right here at Runn Elementary.

Congratulations, Joe! Your Runn Elementary family is proud of you and wishes you continued success!

What a wonderful moment it was to spend time with our Runn Elementary Seniors! Seeing them reconnect, share memories, and reminisce about their time at Runn was truly special. These moments remind us that once you’re part of the Runn family, you’re always part of the Runn family!

Even though our seniors completed their Senior Walk at another campus, the love and pride followed them there. Some of their former teachers made the time to come out, cheer them on, and celebrate how far they’ve come. These visits were a powerful reminder that once you’re part of our school family, you’re always part of it. Congratulations to the Class of 2026 — your journey is just getting started, and we are so proud of you!
