The inaugural Doral Economic Summit: Moving Miami-Dade, hosted by Mayor Christine (Christi) Fraga, brought together more than 280 executives and institutional leaders from key industries driving our regional economy.

Beginning Friday, October 2, all eastbound S.R. 836 lanes at NW 17 Avenue will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday, October 2, until 10 a.m. Saturday, October 3.

In addition, all westbound S.R. 836 travel lanes will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday, October 2, until 8 a.m. Saturday, October 3.

Mariners should note that on Saturday, October 3, between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m., the drawbridge operating schedule will temporarily change for the West Flagler Street and SW 1 Street bridges.

The City of Doral Public Works Department is scheduled to begin construction in October 2026 for the installation of new solar streetlights along NW 82nd Street from NW 107th Avenue to NW 114th Avenue. ๐Ÿ’กโ˜€๏ธ

๐Ÿ‘ท Work Includes:
โ€ข Installation of solar light fixtures, poles and concrete bases
โ€ข Restoration of sidewalks and green areas

โš ๏ธ What to Expect:
โ€ข Partial road closures and/or detours within the work zone
โ€ข Possible traffic delays
โ€ข No parking along the swale within work zones
โ€ข Driveway access maintained at all times

๐Ÿ• Work Hours:
Monday through Friday: 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Saturday: 7:30 AM to 6:30 PM

๐Ÿ“… The project is expected to take approximately 150 calendar days to complete, weather and other unexpected conditions permitting.

A new fiscal year is underway in Doral! ๐Ÿ“Š๐Ÿ’™ The FY 2027 Budget is now in effect, bringing a lower tax burden, continued City services, and investments in public safety, infrastructure, parks and our communityโ€™s future.

Budget highlights & priorities include:
๐Ÿ’ฐ 1.5994 mills operating millage rate
๐Ÿ“‰ Second consecutive year lowering the millage rate, a first in Doralโ€™s history
๐Ÿ† Lowest operating millage rate in Miami-Dade County
๐Ÿ“Š General Fund decreased 6% from FY 2026, with no reduction in City services
๐Ÿ‘ฅ No new full-time positions, with a continued focus on efficiency and better use of existing resources
๐Ÿš” Continued investment in public safety
๐Ÿšง Roadway, resurfacing, sidewalk, drainage and trail improvements
๐ŸŒณ Investments in parks, playgrounds and Doral Central Park
๐Ÿ’ต $2.75 million in State funding secured for roadway projects and public safety costs

The $148 million FY 2027 Budget across all funds also looks toward new revenue opportunities that can help reduce long-term reliance on residential property taxes while continuing to invest in Doralโ€™s future.
