🚨 COMMUNITY ALERT: RENTAL SCAMS IN DOS PALOS 🚨

The Dos Palos Police Department wants to remind our community to be cautious of rental scams circulating on Facebook, TikTok, Marketplace, and other social media platforms.

Scammers may advertise homes for rent using stolen photographs, legitimate addresses, and attractive rental prices. They often request a deposit before allowing potential renters to see the property.

🏠 PROTECT YOURSELF

* Verify the property owner or rental company.
* Never send a deposit without confirming the listing is legitimate.
* Be suspicious of unusually low rental prices.
* Don’t allow anyone to pressure you into sending money immediately.

🚔 If you believe you have been a victim of a rental scam, contact the Dos Palos Police Department at (209) 392-2176.

🚔 Si cree que ha sido víctima de una estafa de renta, comuníquese con el Departamento de Policía de Dos Palos al (209) 392-2176.

🎀 DOS PALOS PD GOES PINK! 🎀

During the month of October, you may notice a little more PINK on the uniforms of Dos Palos Police Officers.

The Dos Palos Police Department is proud to participate in the Pink Patch Project in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Throughout October, our officers will wear our special pink department patch to help raise awareness and show support for those whose lives have been impacted by breast cancer.

And you can get one too!

🚔 Dos Palos PD Pink Patches — $10 each

Our Pink Patches are available for purchase at the Dos Palos Police Department, with proceeds benefiting Susan G. Komen and the fight against breast cancer.

Whether you collect police patches, want to support a great cause, or simply want to show your support for someone who has fought or is currently fighting breast cancer, we hope you'll stop by and pick one up.

For us, the badge represents service. This month, wearing it in pink represents something more — support, strength, hope, and remembrance. 💗

🎀 We wear pink for the fighters.
🎀 We celebrate the survivors.
🎀 We honor those we have lost.
🎀 And we stand with the families who have walked beside them.

Help us turn Dos Palos PINK this October!

$10 per patch | Available at Dos Palos Police Department

🚨 V**E PENS: NI****NE OR THC - KNOW WHAT YOU’RE LOOKING AT

V**e pens have changed dramatically. Many are small, colorful, flavored, and designed to look like everyday items, making it difficult for parents and caregivers to recognize what they are.

V**e devices may contain ni****ne, THC (cannabis), or other substances, and you often cannot tell what is inside simply by looking at the device.

Parents and caregivers should be aware of devices that resemble:
• Highlighters, pens, or markers
• USB drives and other electronics
• Small disposable devices with bright colors or designs
• Products with fruit, candy, or dessert-style names and packaging

⚠️ Why it matters:
Ni****ne is highly addictive, and adolescent ni****ne use can affect the developing brain. THC products can cause impairment and may contain highly concentrated forms of cannabis. Products obtained from informal or unregulated sources can also contain unknown ingredients.
Talk with your kids. Ask questions. Know what these devices look like.

If you find a v**e device in your child’s possession, don't assume it is “just flavored vapor.” Check the packaging or labeling and have a conversation about what the device contains and where it came from.
Our goal is education, prevention, and keeping our young people safe.

Congratulations, Officer Eric Figueroa!

The Dos Palos Police Department is proud to announce that Officer Eric Figueroa has successfully completed the Field Training Program and is now officially on patrol serving the Dos Palos community!

Completing field training is an important milestone in an officer’s career. The program requires officers to demonstrate their knowledge, judgment, decision-making, officer safety, communication skills, and ability to perform the many responsibilities that come with serving our community.

Officer Figueroa has worked hard to reach this point, and we are proud to have him as part of the DPPD team.

If you see Officer Figueroa out on patrol, be sure to say hello and congratulate him on this accomplishment!
Congratulations, Officer Figueroa stay safe and we’ll see you on the streets!
