🇺🇸 Military Appreciation Month 🇺🇸
This Military Appreciation Month, we proudly honor the members of the Pilcher’s Ambulance Service family who have served—and those who continue to serve—in the United States Armed Forces.
The values of duty, sacrifice, integrity, and service to others are at the heart of both military service and EMS. Long before they answered the call to serve our communities, they answered the call to serve our nation.
We are grateful for the leadership, experience, and dedication they bring to our team every day. Their commitment to helping others continues with every patient they care for and every life they touch.
To our veterans and active-duty service members at Pilcher’s Ambulance Service: thank you for your service, sacrifice, and unwavering dedication. We are proud to call you family.
🇺🇸 Please join us in recognizing and thanking these incredible team members for their service to our country and community. 🇺🇸

🚑💙 As we say goodbye to EMS Week 2026, we couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate than spending the evening together at our EMS Dinner here at Pilcher’s Ambulance Service. From the incredible food by Ketchem's Restaurant and Catering to the creative medical-themed dessert and candy bar, the night was a perfect reminder of how blessed we are to have such an amazing team and supportive family.
One of the most meaningful moments of the night came from our CEO Joey Pilcher who shared these words:
“This is why we are who we are — we are rescuers, we are Samaritans.”
That message perfectly captures the heart behind EMS. It’s about showing up in moments of crisis, serving others with compassion, and making a difference when people need it most. We are proud to stand beside such a dedicated team who continue to serve with excellence, sacrifice, and heart every day.
During the evening, we were honored to recognize both our 2025 and 2026 award recipients for their outstanding dedication and commitment to our service and community. Congratulations to all of our award winners — your hard work, leadership, and compassion truly represent the very best of EMS. 🏆✨
As we close out EMS Week, we want to thank every member of the Pilcher’s Ambulance Service family for all that you do. Your commitment to caring for others does not go unnoticed, and we are honored to serve alongside some of the very best. 💙🚑

🚑💙 As EMS Week begins, we want to start the week the best way we know how — in prayer for the hearts behind the sirens: the EMTs, paramedics, first responders, and dispatchers who show up every day ready to help others, no matter the hour or circumstance.
Your compassion brings comfort in moments of fear. Your strength gives hope in times of uncertainty. And your dedication saves lives in ways words could never fully express.
This week is about celebrating each of you and the sacrifices you make for your communities and your families. We pray this EMS Week brings you safety, encouragement, strength, and a reminder that the work you do truly matters.
From your Pilcher’s Ambulance Service family— thank you for being the calm in the chaos and the light in someone’s darkest moment. 💙🚑

The Dothan Fire Department is deeply saddened by the loss of our brother, retired Firefighter/Medic Eddie Smith.
