Day 2 of the Wiregrass Public Safety Academy was packed with hands-on learning and valuable life-saving skills!
After PT, the morning was dedicated to CPR training, where students learned how immediate intervention can make the difference between life and death. Studies show that when CPR is started quickly, it can help triple a victim's chance of survival. By the end of the session, participants earned their CPR certification and gained the confidence to respond in an emergency.
In the afternoon, recruits spent time with the Truck 1, getting an up-close look at ladder truck operations. Students had the opportunity to climb the aerial ladder and learn the fundamentals of forcible entry, practicing the techniques firefighters use to gain access during emergencies when every second counts.
Another great day of learning, teamwork, and experiencing what it takes to serve in the fire service.

We invite our community to join us June 18th, for a benefit fundraiser supporting one of our own as their child courageously battles cancer. Childhood cancer is a cause that holds a special place in our hearts. Through our annual Going for the Gold 5K and ongoing support of local families, we have seen firsthand the strength, resilience, and hope displayed by children and families facing this fight.
All proceeds from this fundraiser will go directly to the family to help ease the financial burdens that often accompany treatment, travel, and daily expenses during this difficult journey.
We ask that you come out, show your support, and help us rally around this family. Together, we can make a meaningful difference and remind them that they do not walk this road alone.
Thank you for your generosity, your prayers, and your support.
