Applications for the 2027 Special Homestead Exemption have been dispatched. Kindly complete and return these forms by the close of business on December 31, 2026. Should you choose to submit your application via mail, we recommend contacting our office to confirm its receipt, as postal delivery times have recently extended. Our objective is to ensure that all eligible individuals receive their Special Homestead Exemption. Please be advised that applications not submitted by December 31, 2026, will not be applied for the 2027 tax year, and corresponding taxes will be due.

The United States Postal Service has revised its postmark policy, and therefore, mail submitted on December 31, 2026, is not guaranteed to receive a postmark bearing that date. To ensure a December 31st postmark, it is necessary to present the mail at a post office counter for immediate stamping. The official postmark serves as the definitive determinant for timely submission.

I want to thank all of my supporters and everyone that voted for me. I especially want to thank my wife Christy Holland for being my rock during this campaign to keep pushing me through to keep me focused while running the Houston County Revenue Commissioner's Office and campaigning simultaneously.
