September said, β€œkeep up.” πŸ˜ŽπŸ“ž

Translation? We are clicking. Headsets on, screens up, teamwork tight.

And a little extra shine for our Superstar of the Month, Part-Time Communications Officer Langford, who hit 100% in 20 seconds or less. πŸ‘πŸΎπŸ‘πŸΎ

Around here, we like fast answers, strong teamwork, and a little healthy competition with the clock. ⏱️

Douglas County E-911 made it out of the center and into the Fall Festival! πŸ‚πŸŽƒπŸ“ž

We had a great time with our partners at the Douglasville Police Department, and of course we had to get a picture with Sgt. Brooks, who DPD is currently β€œborrowing” from the E-911 family on a very long-term basis. πŸ˜‚πŸ’™ We have not approved the transfer.

And yes, Chief Sparks made the photo lineup too!

Good people, good laughs, and one community. Douglas County E-911 is proud to be out connecting with the people we serve. πŸπŸš“πŸ“±

August showed up BIG for Douglas County E-911. πŸ“žβœ¨

Our team handled 16,801 calls for service, while also managing 96 incoming text messages, 66 outgoing texts, and 11 engagements with 988 throughout the month.

And the numbers that really make us proud?

πŸ”₯ 96.90% of calls answered in 15 seconds or less
πŸ”₯ 98.18% answered in 20 seconds or less

That means our Communications Officers did not just meet the moment, they exceeded National Emergency Number Association (NENA) standards while continuing to connect callers, responders, and resources when every second counts.

Big numbers. Fast answers. Real people doing critical work behind the scenes every single day.

D Team from Douglas County E-911 was in the building! 🎳πŸ”₯

We traded headsets for bowling balls and showed up for Heroes 9/11 Night with Douglas County Fire/EMS Department. A little friendly competition, a lot of laughs, and an opportunity to spend time with the public safety family we work alongside every day.

Because apparently saving the day from behind the console wasn’t enough, D Team decided they needed to see what they could do in the lanes too. πŸ˜‚

Great night, great people, and a great way to honor, remember, and enjoy some well-earned fellowship.

E-911 showed up, showed out, and had a BALL. πŸŽ³πŸ’›

πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈToday began with Douglas County’s Patriot Day Ceremony, as we paused to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, the courage witnessed that day, and the first responders and public servants who answered when our nation needed them most.

September 11th, reminds us that public service is ultimately a choice, a choice to answer, to act, and to be present in moments that ask something of us.

It was especially meaningful, then, that later today The Blu Rose Art Bistro recognized local first responders, and Douglas County E 9-1-1 selected Supervisor Aundrea Morris.

Andrea was working in 9-1-1 on September 11, 2001. Twenty-five years later, she is still answering the call.

A 30+ year E 9-1-1 veteran, Andrea now helps lead our CPR, quality assurance, and auxiliary services efforts. Her decades of service represent the quiet, enduring commitment that Patriot Day calls us to remember and honor.

Today, we remember those we lost, honor those who served, and thank those who continue to choose service.

We will never forget. β€οΈπŸ€πŸ’™

ANSWER THE CALL ☎️

When someone in Douglas County dials 9-1-1, their call begins with Douglas County E-911.

Our Communications Officers are the first, first responders, answering emergency calls, gathering critical information, determining what help is needed, and connecting callers with the appropriate public safety response.

πŸš’ Before a fire engine rolls.
πŸš‘ Before an ambulance is dispatched.
πŸš“ Before law enforcement responds.
πŸ—£οΈ There is a voice answering the call.

That voice matters.

It takes composure, compassion, critical thinking, and the ability to make decisions when seconds count. It is demanding work. It is meaningful work. And it is an opportunity to serve Douglas County at the very beginning of the emergency response.
