We're all set up for the booksale! And what a booksale we have in store for you! Starting tomorrow bring and early (9-7) and running through Friday (9-5) and Saturday (9-1 AND 4-7 during the Night Market), all books, DVDs, magazines, puzzles, anything not bolted to the floor is 10 cents! We've never seen this many books, we've had to redecorate the basement to fit it all.

And as always, all proceeds go towards children's programming. Hope to see you there!

This week at the library! Our Ten Cent Basement Booooooksale starts on Thursday (9-7), Friday (9-5), and Saturday (9-1 AND 4-7) Everything is ten cents, come and get some scary good deals!

Saturday night, the 24th, head to our Authors and Artisan Night Market from 4-7! Lots of craft and art vendors outside and in the pavilion. Meanwhile, inside, we'll have authors selling and signing their books. It's a great way to kick off your Christmas shopping while helping out the local economy.

And, don't forget we have Trick or Treat for Books at the library on Halloween night! Every kid gets a book. It's a Dover tradition!

The second best deal in town is back! Is it the civic pride associated with having the best, most beautiful library sign in Maine? No, I'm talking about our slightly-haunted Ten Cent Basement Booooooksake Oct. 22-24. Everything is 10 cents! Everything must go! We also have our Authors and Artisan Night Market Oct. 24th from 4-7!

Lots going on in the DFC in October. We didn't even mention Trick or Treating for Books at the library on Halloween night......

Our friends at Skowhegan Free Public Library are a bit sign impaired, so we're gonna try to help them out! They can't just put up letters on their beautiful sign asking for books like we can. We weren’t planning to get involved in the great Maine library sign debate of 2026…

But then we remembered ours is only four weeks old.

Seems irresponsible not to mention it. 😌

Even in the rain, it still has that new sign smell!

Reading Group is this Thursday at the library at 6 pm

Also, don't forget about our Authors and Artisan Night Market Oct. 24th from 4-6. There'll also be a book sale in the basement Oct. 22-24th, but we ran out of sign space.....(three signs?)

Now that I think about it, a little shower is probably best just in case Angie or anyone else from Skowhegan Free Public Library tried to sabotage it over the weekend..........better safe than sorry!

This is very sweet of Angie! All joking aside, Skowhegan Free Public Library (and Angie) is the best.

It has come to our attention that some people think Skowhegan’s sign looks better because we have flowers. Thompson Free Library wanted everyone to know that they have flowers too. You just have to… imagine them.

Now, we LOVE imagination. We’ve been talking about Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library so much lately, we practically consider ourselves experts. But even we have limits!

So Library Director Angie crossed enemy lines yesterday, armed with mums and an overwhelming sense of civic responsibility.
No more imaginary flowers.
No more pretending.
No more staring longingly at Skowhegan’s landscaping.
You have real flowers now, Thompson. Please take care of them. We can’t do everything for you.

And as for what else may (or may not) have happened while Angie was behind enemy lines…well…you’ll just have to stay tuned. 😏
