Dover Children's Home is looking to hire a Clinical Manager to join our team!

Our Clinical Manager plays a key role in creating a safe, supportive, and treatment-focused environment for our youth while supporting and guiding our staff through clinical and treatment needs. This role focuses on creating a culture of safety and works closely with other teams in the home to contribute to the mission of the program.

Help Make it the Spookiest Season! 👻🤡

Halloween is a favorite holiday here at DCH - just check out some of our youth's costumes from years past. 🎃 This year, all 7 youth who will be here for the holiday are looking to dress up and are brainstorming costumes!

If anyone would like to support costume shopping, that would mean so much. $40 will cover one youth's costume and accessories. Any additional funds beyond the $40 per individual will be used for us to support our Halloween party for snacks, games, and decorations. 💀

🍽️ Help Us Fill Our Meal Train! 💙

We have Meal Train openings from now through the end of the year, and we’d love your help providing a dinner for the youth at Dover Children’s Home!

For our youth, a donated meal is about so much more than dinner. It creates a sense of home, comfort, and community - and gives our staff an opportunity to gather around the table with youth, share a meal, and create meaningful connections.

Whether you’re cooking a favorite family recipe, picking up takeout, or donating toward a meal, your generosity helps make DCH feel a little more like home. 🏡

✨ A NEW CHAPTER FOR ONE OF OUR LEVEL 1 YOUTH!

We are so incredibly proud to celebrate a HUGE milestone for one of our Level 1 youth, who recently turned 21 and transitioned out of Dover Children’s Home and into an apartment of her very own!

This young woman has worked so hard during her time at DCH. She has built skills, gained confidence, discovered her passions, and taken so many important steps toward creating a life of her own. During her time in our program, she:

✨ Obtained employment and is supporting herself through a full-time job in the community
🚌 Learned to navigate public transportation independently — a skill she continues to use every day
🎨 Discovered her love of crafting and creating
🏠 Built the skills and experience needed to successfully transition into her own home

And now, she is continuing to build her community and her life here in Dover. While she has officially moved into her own apartment, her DCH team will continue to support her through aftercare services until April 2027.

This is what independence can look like. It is the result of hard work, perseverance, support, and a community that believes in a young person's ability to create a future for themselves. She is an incredible, smart, talented individual with a great sense of humor, and we could not be prouder of all that she has accomplished!

It truly takes a community to raise a child — and sometimes, it takes a community to help a young adult build a home, too. 🏡

⛳ On behalf of the DCH Team, THANK YOU for making our 18th Annual DCH Golf Tournament a HUGE success!

This year, we had the pleasure of welcoming golfers to the beautiful Cochecho Country Club for a day of golf, community, and incredible generosity in support of Dover Children’s Home!

After expenses, we are absolutely thrilled to share that we raised $44,007! 🎉 This includes an incredible $8,500 generously contributed by our luncheon donors, the NAH Foundation and Pioneer Electric to help fund two major facilities projects - a new set of washing machines and new electrical outlets throughout the Home. Thank you for making these crucial projects possible!

To all of our golfers, sponsors, donors, volunteers, and supporters: THANK YOU! We are truly blown away by the generosity of our community, as always. None of this would be possible without YOU.

We also want to take a moment to recognize three amazing women who are stepping down from their roles with DCH. Sharon Zacharias, who has served on our Board of Directors for several years, and Tracy Bavicchi and Donna Smith, who have been invaluable members of our Development Committee. So much of our success in supporting our youth is made possible by your dedication to our mission and organization. We could not have done this work without you, and while you will be greatly missed, we are forever grateful for the time, heart, and energy you have given to DCH. ❤️

A LITTLE SUPPORT GOES A LONG WAY! 💙

We have two special opportunities to support programming and meaningful experiences for the youth at Dover Children’s Home!

🚌 Level 1 – Building Independence
Our Level 1 PILOT program is in need of single-ride COAST bus tickets! One of our young men takes the bus twice daily to get to work. While he purchases his own tickets, we love having a back stock available for youth who are learning and practicing how to navigate public transportation independently.

$150 provides 200 bus tickets! Your support helps our youth build confidence, independence, and valuable life skills.

🦉 Level 2 – Bringing the Wonders of Wildlife to DCH
We are hoping to welcome Tailwinds: Raptor Education to DCH for an unforgettable, hands-on educational experience! This one-hour program brings three live, non-releasable birds of prey directly to our home, where youth can learn about raptor biology, habitats, and survival adaptations. With the opportunity to see and touch educational bird specimens, this experience encourages curiosity, connection, and appreciation for the natural world.

$370 will cover the program and transportation!

This week, our Clinical Manager, Savannah Fay, ran one of our three-day Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) trainings for community members, as well as DCH staff and volunteers! We were happy to have friends from Portsmouth Housing Authority join us!

Thank you to Savannah for providing this incredible resource to our team and community, our attendees for joining us for this important work, and our incredible meal donors for feeding everyone. Shout out to Claire Xiao and friends, Keith Meehan, Kathleen Allen, Skye Bonney, and Jerrica Vansylyvong! 😊
