Supporting the mental health of our military members, veterans, and their families is a responsibility we all share.

BHC was proud to sponsor and table at the 16th Annual Front Lines at Home Military and Veterans Mental Health Conference, hosted by Mental Health America (MHA). We were grateful for the opportunity to connect with everyone committed to supporting those who serve and have served.

We're excited to continue these important conversations at our own Healing the Helpers Conference on October 28 in Dover!

Meaningful change doesn’t have to start with a big organization or a statewide program. Sometimes it starts with one person. One idea. One community deciding to do something differently.

If you know an individual, organization, group, program or initiative making a meaningful contribution to behavioral health and well-being in Delaware, their work deserves to be considered.

There’s still time to tell us about it.

Today, we remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and honor the first responders and public servants whose courage and selflessness were demonstrated in the face of unimaginable tragedy.

We also recognize that the impact of crisis and trauma can continue long after the immediate moment has passed. Supporting those who serve means ensuring that mental health resources, peer support, and compassionate care are there when they are needed — today and in the years that follow.

The Delaware Behavioral Health Consortium remains grateful for those who dedicate their lives to protecting and serving others. Today, we remember, honor, and stand with them.

On World Su***de Prevention Day, we’re reminded that changing the narrative starts with how we show up for one another.

Talk openly. Check in. Listen without judgment. And help connect people to support when they need it.

Together, we can reduce stigma and help create communities where asking for help is met with compassion, understanding, and support.

If you or someone you know is struggling, call or text 988 to connect with the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline.

Let’s allow September to serve as a time to celebrate the millions of people living in recovery and recognize the family, peers, providers, and communities that support them along the way.

The BHC recognizes that recovery is a journey and strong systems of prevention, treatment, and recovery support help make that journey possible.
