🏆 Congratulations to Western Mason County Water District! 🏆

We are extremely proud to announce that Western Mason County Water District has received the 2026 Wooden Bucket Award from the Kentucky Rural Water Association!

This award recognizes outstanding service, dedication, and contribution to the development and distribution of water supplies throughout rural Kentucky—and it is certainly well deserved.

David and Chris, along with the entire Board and staff, have worked tirelessly to provide the people of Mason County with clean, safe, dependable drinking water, while maintaining a system that delivers that water with very little interruption or disturbance to its customers.

Running a water district takes a tremendous amount of work behind the scenes that most people never see. From maintaining infrastructure and responding to problems, to planning for the future and making sure quality water is available every single day, Western Mason continues to set a high standard.

We couldn’t be more proud of everything this district has accomplished and the dedication of the people who make it happen.

The Western Mason County Water District is honored to be nominated by the Kentucky Rural Water Association for the esteemed Wooden Bucket Award, recognizing our utility as one of the top 10 in the state. This marks our third nomination, a testament to our unwavering commitment to providing exceptional potable drinking water to our customers. We extend our gratitude to our dedicated staff and board of commissioners, whose tireless efforts over the past two decades have enabled us to modernize and upgrade our infrastructure. Notable achievements include the replacement of aging lines, installation of new meters and setters, tank rehabilitation, drilling of two new wells, and the construction of a new office and plant complex, resulting in a significant reduction of water loss to between 2-4%. We congratulate the other finalists and appreciate the recognition from the Kentucky Rural Water Association for our hard work and dedication.

Great news again!!! Our new credit card payment system is set up and ready to go. Visit our website www.wmwd.biz to set up your account today. Follow instructions on the customer portal tab and once your account is set up there will be no need to enter all your card info any more. You can also paste the link to your phone or computer for quick access. If you have any problems just call the office.

Great news!!! WMWD now has the availability for every customer to see their own billing account with the new Customer Account Access Portal. Keep track of your history payments and usage. See your current bill and have the ability to pay your bill from the site with our new payment center coming online within the next week. To all of our customers, the office will be closing Tuesday December 9th around 10 am for a planned electric outage to upgrade some equipment. The computers and phone service will be down so anyone trying to pay a bill or reach the office will not be able to contact us. We will reopen at 8am on Wednesday and will resume business as usual. If you have an emergency you may call 859-338-2774.
