The DSWA Education team had a great time at Penn Farm Day with Colonial School District - New Castle, De 8th graders. They learned the basics of composting and were introduced to some of our detritivores and worms. Being out in the community and providing hands-on learning opportunities is one of our favorite things!

Last week, DSWA staff attended Solid Waste Association of North America RCon 2026 in St. Louis, Missouri. We celebrated DSWA Chief of Engineering and new SWANA President Lynsey Baer, as well as the Education Team’s Communication, Education & Marketing Technical Division Award for Game Changing Tools!

Thank you to everyone who talked some trash with DSWA at this year’s conference!
