Chesapeake Utilities distributes natural gas to approximately 60,000 residential, commercial and industrial customers in Delaware and Maryland. Our Delaware Division serves southern New Castle County and is the only natural gas distribution system serving Delaware’s Kent and Sussex Counties. Our Maryland Division operates the only natural gas distribution system, with the exception of one municipal system, on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. Chesapeake Utilities is the natural gas distribution subsidiary of Chesapeake Utilities Corporation (NYSE: CPK), a diversified utility company engaged in natural gas distribution, transmission and marketing; electric distribution; propane gas distribution and wholesale marketing; advanced information services and other related services. Through the Black Leaders and Visionaries Scholarship, Chesapeake Utilities Corporation’s Black Employee Network (BEN) Employee Resource Group is recognizing students who are inspired by modern Black leadership and committed to creating positive change.
Eligible students can apply for one of two $3,000 scholarships by submitting a short video about a Black leader or visionary from the past 25 years who has influenced their life, values or future aspirations.
