18 Years ago today, America changed forever. Like most Americans, I remember that day like it was yesterday. I was preparing to teach a course to police officers at UMass Lowell Academy. As you can imagine, being in a room with all first responders and a number of us, Veterans, made the news of the tragedy feel very close to home. We knew and felt that America would respond with a new generation of Patriots and a commitment to fighting for Freedom. God bless all of the innocent people who lost their lives that day, God bless those first responders that ran into danger and God bless the families that lost their loved ones. May God have mercy on those that continue to suffer from that tragic day and may we never forget that our greatest strength as Americans is our unity.
