Early detection saves lives. This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Governor Meyer joined former First Lady Jill Biden and healthcare leaders to recognize the strength of survivors, honor the memory of those we’ve lost, and thank the healthcare professionals, caregivers, and advocates who stand with patients and families throughout their journey.

Talk to your doctor about screening, and know your family’s medical history. It could make all the difference.

Important update from the Delaware Department of Elections: a suspicious letter was received at their office today. Staff followed safety protocols, and law enforcement is investigating.

Today, October 15, 2026 at approximately 2:00 p.m., the Delaware Department of Elections (DOE) received and opened a letter which was discovered to contain a white powdery substance. Staff members followed security and USPS postal instructions on handling suspicious mail. The mail piece was isolated, staff members were decontaminated and evacuated, HVAC system was shut down, and law enforcement, state and federal partners have arrived at the office and are conducting the investigation and testing.

All election offices statewide have sent their non-essential state employees home in an abundance of caution.

Additional information will be provided to the public as the response continues.

🦌 Deer are on the move, Delaware!

As the days get shorter and deer mating season approaches, drivers should be extra cautious on the roads, especially around dawn and dusk when deer are most active.

From 2021 to 2025, Delaware recorded more than 8,400 deer-related crashes, with nearly half occurring in October, November and December.

Here are a few tips to stay safe this fall:
đźš— Slow down and watch for deer along roadsides, especially in wooded areas.
🦌 If you see one deer, be prepared for others nearby.
💡 Use high beams when there’s no oncoming traffic to help spot deer.
⚠️ Never swerve to avoid a deer. Brake and stay in your lane.

With clocks turning back Nov. 1, now is a good time to brush up on safe driving habits.

Governor Matt Meyer joins legislators, filmmakers, production professionals, and industry leaders at Pine Box Studios in Wilmington for the ceremonial signing of House Bill 364 and Senate Bill 342, advancing Delaware’s growing entertainment production industry.

HB 364 establishes Delaware’s Entertainment Production Tax Credit, providing a 30% transferable tax credit for qualifying film, television, commercial, music video, video game, and esports productions that spend more than $100,000 in Delaware.

SB 342 strengthens Delaware’s Motion Picture and Television Development Commission and the infrastructure needed to support productions, connect filmmakers with local resources, and grow the state’s entertainment workforce.

The goal goes beyond bringing productions to Delaware. It’s about creating opportunities for the people in the credits—the crews, creators, skilled trades, small businesses, and Delaware families who help bring great stories to life.
