🎉 It's official! The Delaware Office of New Americans is now established in state law!
In November 2025, Governor Matt Meyer launched the Delaware Office of New Americans to strengthen opportunities and support for immigrant communities across the First State. Now, with the signing of Senate Bill 27 on September 30, 2026, the Office has been formally codified into Delaware law!
Delaware joins nearly half of all U.S. states that have established an Office of New Americans or similar state-level structure.
Home to more than 121,000 foreign-born residents, representing nearly 12% of our population, Delaware recognizes the important contributions immigrants make to our workforce, economy, and communities.
This milestone reinforces the Office's mission to expand access to workforce development, language services, citizenship assistance, and civic engagement opportunities.
